Last October 27-29, 2014, Cooperative Month Celebration with the theme: CO-OPS 2020: RAISING THE BAR, “Batanguenos: Yes We Can!” was held at the Office of the City Veterinary and Agricultural Services (OCVAS) through the Cooperative Division. It is a well represented celebration wherein not only cooperatives from Batangas City attended but also from different municipalities of Batangas. On Day 1, Dr. Angelito Bagui, Chairman of Batangas City Cooperative Development Council (BCCDC)  had the opening remarks and it was followed by a short message from Honorable Eduardo B. Dimacuha which represented by his son and the Secretary to the Mayor, Atty. RD Dimacuha. Mayor Eddie gave P100,000.00 cash to the BCCDC to extend his support for uplifting the cooperatives. The Guest Speaker, Mr. SALVADOR V. VALEROSO, CDA Regional Director – Reg. IV discussed the STATUS OF COOPS & ITS CHALLENGES and AWARENESS IN MERGING & CONSOLIDATION. Mr. GLENN R. AGUDA, LBP Senior Treasury Sales Officer talked about Financial Management.

On the second day Investment/Financing Clinique was held, it was participated by distinct banks and insurance company such as CCRB, SME CARD BANK, BPI, SUNLIFE FINANCIAL, DBP, LANDBANK, METROBANK, MAYBANK and PHILAMLIFE.

Hon. RICO B. GERON gave an inspirational message.

Leisure activities was held on the last day like SING & DANCE CONTEST and BINGO SOCIAL . And, to gave credit to the cooperatives who participated in the event, giveaways were given through raffle.

The Livestock Division of the Office of the City Veterinary and Agricultural Services is in charge of giving permits to install Meat Shops and Veterinary Establishments

Below is the list of Requirements for Meat Shops and Animal Dispersal

REQUIREMENTS FOR MEATSHOP (Outside public market)

1. The Meat Shop should have at least one (1) personnel who attended the course on Hygienic  Handling of Meat in meat markets and shall possess a Meat Handler’s License.

2.  The building must be glass enclosed.

3. Room temperature must be controlled not higher than 16 ºC.

4. Operating table must be made of stainless and steel.

5. Must have sterilizer for knives and utensils.

6. Must have chillers and freezers for storage.

7. Must pass the requirement cited by Administration Order No. 5 Series of 2012, otherwise known as Rules and Regulations on Hygienic Handling of Newly Slaughtered Meat in Meat Markets.

 

FOR ANIMAL DISPERSAL

1. Recommendation Letter from the Barangay Captain or City Mayor

2. Seminar on Swine/Goat Production and Management

-500 m. to 1 km. away from built up area

-Foot Bath

-Wheel Bath

-Waste disposal facility

-2×2 photo of the applicant

 

2. Veterinary Supplies

-Consulting veterinarian

-Resident veterinarian if selling biologics and regulated veterinary drugs

-2×2 photo of the applicant

 

3. Livestock and Poultry Haulers (within the city operation)

-Rust free materials for conveyance

-Enclosed vehicle

-Driver’s License

-Orientation seminar (1hr.) from VSD-OCVAS

-2×2 photo of the applicant

 

4. Livestock and Poultry Haulers (outside the city operation)

-Meat conveyance from the NMIS

-2×2 photo of the applicant

 

5. Meat shops (outside of public market and talipapa)

-Glass enclosed

-Maintained temperature not lower than 16 ºC

-Stainless operating tables and knives

-Stainless hooks

-Washing facilities and sanitizing agents

-Sewage system

-Garbage bins for bio and non-biodegradable waste

-Comfort room

-Freezer and Chiller
